WASHINGTON, DC— November 11th is a national holiday honoring the lives and sacrifices of our country’s Veterans. For more than 50 years, this day has been officially designated as Veterans Day, providing Americans an opportunity to pay tribute to those men and women who served our country. In light of today’s significance, Representative Thaddeus McCotter (MI-11) issued the following statement:
“We commemorate Veterans’ Day to honor 25 million of our fellow citizens who have served in our Armed Forces. We extol them for their virtuous defense of our land and liberty, and thank them for their sacrifice on our behalf. Today, the United States stands as a beacon of hope for all humanity, because our nation’s revolutionary experiment in democracy has been guarded and ennobled by our veterans’ devotion. We, and the world, can never thank them enough.”
