McCotter to Co-Host College Admissions and
Financial Aid Workshop

Livonia, MI  - Representative Thaddeus G. McCotter (R-Livonia) will hold a workshop on planning and paying for college and encourages local high school students and their families to come and learn more about the financial aid process.  The free workshop, sponsored by the Sallie Mae Fund—will be held Saturday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. in Presentation Room 550 at Schoolcraft College.  A $1,000 scholarship toward the cost of higher education will be awarded to one high school attendee.

“Selecting a college can seem overwhelming.  This workshop will help inform and facilitate the selection process of students and parents making this important decision,” said McCotter.

In partnership with the National Association for College Admission Counseling, the Sallie Mae admissions and financial aid workshop will demonstrate to area college-bound students and their families the benefits of continuing an education beyond high school.

The workshop will address the affordability of college due to various types of resources and financial aid available to help prepare for the college admissions and financial aid process.
